Open Enrollment for C Plan Health Insurance through the IATSE National Benefits Fund is happening now!!! All elections are due by December 15!!!!
Things to know:
- Open enrollment is the only time that you can upgrade your existing insurance during the year; you may downgrade coverage at any point during the year.
- If you receive a packet stating that you qualify for C-Plan Health Insurance, you must make a coverage election or prove that you have insurance through a non-state insurance plan, such as a spouse's employer-based insurance. If you are on Access CT health insurance and qualify for the C-Plan through the union, you will lose your Access CT health insurance because the C-Plan supersedes it by law, so please make an election accordingly. IATSE Local 84 has no control over who qualifies for the C-Plan, coverage elections, or if workers are kicked off of previous insurance.
- If you do not respond with a coverage choice, you will automatically be enrolled in C2 Single Person coverage.
- Rates given are on a QUARTERLY basis, meaning every 3 months. Coverage is primarily paid for with employer contributions to your CAPP account, which is a benefit above your paycheck included in our contracts.
- If you choose a coverage that costs more than what is in your CAPP account, you are responsible for paying the difference or downgrading your coverage by the 15th day of the month prior to the beginning of the next quarter; if you do not pay, you lose your coverage.
- Make sure you register on their website, iatsenbf.org and write down your password!
- If you are a person who also works with IATSE 74, which is on the A-Plan, you can find the form to convert "A-Days" to C-Plan money on the NBF website.
- For any further information, you can call 1-800-456-3863 to speak to a representative from the IATSE NBF.
